ArcFleet™ SOFTWARE SYSTEM
Q: Am I limited as to how many users
the software can handle?
A: The program is designed to have an unlimited
user capacity, but is restricted to the number of user licenses
you purchase. The software grows with your company.
When you hire more staff, additional user licenses can be
purchased and added to the system within minutes.
Q: Can the software be launched and operated
from all stations on a local area network?
A: Yes, the software can be operated from all stations on a local area network. The program can also be used in multiple office locations
Q: Is the software fully network capable?
A: Yes, a 2-user system may be installed on separate computers linked together on a peer-to-peer network.
A 3 or more user system must be installed on a dedicated server
with the individual workstations networked via Novell Netware,
Windows NT 4.0 Server, or Windows 2000/2003 Server software and network cards installed on each workstation.
Q: What operating system software does Arcline recommend?
A: Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, or XP
Professional. It is not recommended for use with Microsoft
Windows ME (Millennium Edition).
Q: Is the Arcline Program required to be installed on a server?
A: If you have three or more users, it must be installed
on a dedicated server with Novell Netware, Windows NT 4.0
Server, or Windows 2000/2003 Server software installed as the operating system.
Q: What forms are included in the software and are
they automatically created?
A: Spot Quotes, Rate Quotes, Load Orders, Bill of Lading, Carrier Confirmations (for brokered loads), Trip Reports, Trip Envelopes, Directions Sheet, Customer Confirmations, Driver Settlements, Invoices and many more forms. Also, if we do not currently create a form required by your company, we will create one for you. (please see our custom programming section)
Q: Does the program have rating functions? Does it keep a record of all rates and does
it have the ability to research historical rates by lane, customer, carrier, etc.?
A: It has automatic rating and Rate Table capabilities for Bill To's, Carriers, and Companies. It also keeps
a record of all previous rates that you can easily search by date range, status, carrier while creating new orders in the system.
Q: Will this program help me keep track of all
my driver records?
A: Yes, the software will generate reports on driver's license renewals, physicals due, accidents and injuries sustained, as well as felonies, tickets and suspensions incurred helping you manage your drivers and assist you in reliable and profitable driver selection. Pop up reminders can be enabled to notify the dispatcher of the current driver status, current location and availability to move a load.
Q: How are commissions tracked? Can more than
1 rep be assigned to a single load order (split commission)? Are commissions calculated on the net fee, or on gross revenue? By base amount or strictly percentage (default or variable)?
A: One sales person can be entered per Bill To. Commissions can be tracked by margin, percentage, or flat rate.
The rating structure choice is yours. If you rate with a different formula, our support team can customize the sales commission structure for your organization
Q: Does this program have a Bill of Lading Feature?
A: Yes. It is available as an Add On Feature for the ArcFreight package and is included in the ArcFleet package.
Q: Does the software have truck and trailer inventory and maintenance management capabilities?
A: Yes, you can schedule and keep track of your equipment's location and availability by using the agenda for all equipment displayed in the load scheduler. It has maintenance tracking, scheduling with reminders and costs analysis to help you determine equipment reliability and profitability. You can even generate work tickets and have pop-up reminder notices when your equipment is due for maintenance.
Q: Do you track Fuel Surcharge?
A: Yes, Fuel Surcharge is included in this program.
Q: Which accounting programs does it interface
to?
A: The accounting interface is an Add On Module
currently available for NewViews, Peachtree, Simply Accounting,
and ACCPAC. Other interfaces including Quick Books and
Great Plains will be available upon request.
Q: I just invested in new invoice forms.
Will I still be able to use them with your software?
A: The program comes with a standard Invoice
template where your logo and company information can be inserted,
allowing you to print invoices directly from the system.
However, if you would like to print on to pre-printed invoice
forms, we will just need you to supply us with a few blank
samples, so that we can format the text to line up properly
when you go to print.
Q: Can a rate table for assessorial charges
be set up? (i.e.: power tailgate $35, or driver detention
3 hours @ $50)
A: Yes, this included in all base systems.
Q: Does this package handle multi-currency?
A: Yes, it can by having a separate account in
$CDN and $US funds for each customer who is paid in both currencies.
Our software will automatically generate a new account in
the accounting software the first time that they are paid
in a currency other than their default.
Q: Does the application transfer payables in
a similar manner as it does with invoices?
A: Yes, payables to both drivers and salespeople
(i.e. commissions) are transferred automatically into the
correct accounts within the accounting software.
Q: Will I be able to see revenue by Load Order
converted to CDN dollars?
A: Yes, not only can you do that, but you can
use the exchange rate at the time of posting, today's exchange
rate, or any other exchange rate you choose.
Q: What reports are included?
A: Included in the system are sales and activity
reports with day-to-day performance and profitability figures.
It has a variety of daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports
to give you more financial control and help you with better
decision making.
Q: Can custom reports be created? How?
A: Yes, they can. It would require custom
programming. We design the report to your specifications
and put it in the system. If you outline what the report
should look like, we can quote on it.
Q: Can reports be exported to MS Excel?
A: Yes, data can be exported to Excel.
Q: Does this Program have EDI capabilities?
A: Yes, it is available at an extra charge.
Q: What programming language is the program written
in?
A: Visual FoxPro 8.0.
Q: What printer works best with this program?
A: All Printers will work with this program. We prefer
to recommend HP Laser Jet Printers.
Q: What software do you use to connect to and support
my program?
A: Our staff can support your program via the internet with GoToMyPC, Webconference or Microsoft Terminal Services.
Q: How much does the software cost?
A: The ArcFleet™ Software
System is reasonably priced. It is based on how many
licenses are required. In other words, it is priced
according to how many users you need to have logged into the
system simultaneously.
Q: How is the software installed?
A: For small systems, we send you a self installation
CD. When you receive the CD,
if you'd like us to guide you through the installation, we
can do that over the phone at no extra charge. We'll
even help you through the administrative setup and guide you
as to what information you should start putting into your
database. For larger systems we recommend doing an on
site installation, which can be done for a small fee.
While on site, we can go through the initial set up, give
your staff a tour of the software, provide an initial training
session and get them started with entering data into the system.
